ESTELA
Performance
Performance piece born from the collaboration of two creators coming from different disciplines: dance and theatre. The artists explore their shared Spanish identity, and the traces that memories leave on their bodies and how their embodied experience is when remembering them. This piece is intimate and autobiographical. Audience witnesses the individual journeys of the two performers, and how they interrelate and coexist in space-time.
Synopsis:
Two female performers meet on stage to reminisce. They create a ritual whereby their bodies, clay and words come together to recall their inner memories. On this journey, they endeavour to meet, to face one another, to confront their alter ego. On embodying one another, they make the collective becomes the intimate.
How does the other body mirror mine? Can she carry the weight of my memories? What makes us move?
Estela creates a space where past, present and future merge. Estela is, above all, a way to leave a trace, to not forget.
